In regards to the recent cable break affecting SMW3 Segment 3.1 between (Tuas – JKT BU), which occurred on 17th April 2018 / 10th May 2018 the Shunt Fault#1 is located at 28km from Tuas whereas Shunt Fault#2 is located at 231km from Tuas (Service Impacting due to Double-Shunt condition), please be advised that the latest update is that:
The repair is currently under project & permits planning for Fault#1 with no estimated repair date currently available whereas the repair for fault#2 is ongoing with an estimated completion date of 30th May 2018. Date: 2018-05-23 01:51:34 UTC
There are 2 faults identified on this segment issue and Fault#1 was found to be in deep trench and would require mobilization of Special designed Cable Barge with deep de-trenching tool capability to perform recovery and cable repair for Shunt fault located 28km from Tuas CLS, Hence, ETR may be delayed and/or TBD yet.
